It is no longer news that Nigerian masses are suffering and also, a known fact that the dollar exchange rate to Naira is way too high. As a result of the fall in the value of Naira, many commodities in the market have skyrocketed which has caused some Nigerians today to occupy the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN headquarters, Abuja to express their displeasure of the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele’s bad monetary policies which have destroyed so many jobs and crumbled businesses.
Prince Deji Adeyanju, the director if news media of People Democratic Party (PDP) Deji Adeyanju was the covener of the protest today January 13, 2017 tagged #OccupyCBN. Dr John Danfulani and many others Nigerians were there.
The protest was staged today January 13, 2017, at the Central Bankof Nigeria (CBN) Headquarters, Abuja. Deji said the protest was because of the “The fraudulent Forex Trading, Round Tripping and racketeering going on in the Central Bank of Nigeria” he also said that “end the manipulation of Forex, illegally funding Federal Government budget, shortchanging the money deposit Bank’s reserve ratio at the expense of the masses as the abuse of internal process is unbearable as the economy is negatively impacted and the resultant effects on the Nigerian masses is already at a dangerous level”.
The convener also said as a result of fraudulent Forex trading paracetamol of 20 Naira before is now 50 Naira in the pharmacy. He also said that it has affected virtually everything in the market today.
Many Nigerians were there to show their worries and pains which the CBN bad monetary policies have caused them. The protest was tagged #OccupyCBN
