To those who knows the political game will understand that it is a game of no permanent enemy but permanent interest with conflicting interest and differences in ideology and belief.
In what was seen as a big catch and relief in the political permutation ahead of 2019 elections in Kurmi LGA where the duo of Hon. Stephen Ibrahim Agya the chairman of the LGA and Hon. John Tobi his predecessor were seen exchanging pleasantries in the official resident of the Kurmi boss who was given a warm reception alongside other decampees to the people’s Democratic Party (PDP)
Recalled that Hon. John Tobi Yarafa who was a chieftain of the PDP in Kurmi LGA left his folk under the umbrella party at the 2015 general elections build up to pitch tent with the All Progressive Congress (APC) his new bride that was defeated in the elections which saw her candidate Sen. Aisha Alhassan contesting the outcome of the election in the court and loss to the incumbent Gov. Darius Dickson Ishaku.
Hon. John Tobi Yarafa and Mr. Philip Ibrahim held from Abong ward traced their way back to their former party, the ruling party in Taraba alongside Mr. Calvin Yohanna of Didan ward who abhorred the name PDP as he is known to be APC diehard.
The defection of Mr. Calvin Yohanna left his Facebook fans and many other whom he has politick into the APC wondering, he is also known as the party diehard and sympathizer. In a comment were one of his Facebook friend said “Calvin has finally met with humiliation and rejection in APC, and thank God he made the right choice of retracing his steps to the right place”.
Others who defected to the people’s Democratic Party include Mr. Iliya Ibrahim of Njuande ward with Baba Haruna of Baissa ward where our correspondent gathered that the irreconcilable difference in APC as a result of the party congresses may have informed their decision to return back to their PDP folks while others saw it differently as self seeking individuals who have nothing good to offer the APC, haven loss relevance hence the need to relocate.
In their meeting with the council boss, the defectors pledged their unalloyed loyalty and support to their new party, the PDP and the rescue captain where they promise to work for his return come 2019.
The council boss assured them of fair treatment as the umbrella is wide enough to accommodate them.
In his remark he said “Your return back home was long expected, now that you have finally returned, I assure you of equal and fair treatment”
He added that they should pull their wealth of experience together to rescue Taraba and their constituency to the party come 2019.
