Tachira In Southern Kaduna, Attacked by FULANI Herdsmen Yesterday Night
Alarm was heard yesterday at about 12:55 midnight of a possible Fulani herdsmen attack in Tachira of Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The DPO in Kaura who confirmed the attack to be true said that he was making necessary contact as of the time he was called.
Some persons tried to contact the Army unit stationed around that axis but to no avail as they were not reachable on phone.
The youths were able to repel the attackers even though five (5) people were killed by the attackers. Among those that were killed is the wife of the guard to the Chief of Takad Mrs Asabe Jonathan 49 years Veronica Julius 27years with 5 months pregnancy and two of his children Gabriel Jonathan 12 years and Naomi Jonat 10 year. A vigilante member Kefas Emmanuel 23 years. The young girl died while being rushed to the hospital.
Report reaching us says that the guard to the Chief of Atakad was the target of the deadly Fulani herdsmen. Fortunately for the guard to the chief of Takad, he was in Kaduna when this wickedness took place where his family members were killed.
It is a known fact that Southern Kaduna is now a theatre of death since the Fulani herdsmen waged a jihad on the people of Southern Kaduna. Moreover, the state and federal governments who are saddled with the responsibility of protecting their citizens/indigenes have failed to do so.
These killings have been going on unabated by the Kaduna State and the Federal Governments. What will it cost the State government in collaboration with the federal government to send military personnel to go into the hideouts of the Fulani herdsmen, who are the killers, and fetch them out just as they did to cattle rustlers in Birnin Gwari local government and in Zamfara State.
These attacks are again visited on the people of Southern Kaduna following attacks on Ungwan Rana and Gadani villages under Gwagwada district in Chikun Local government Area on December 14, 2016. It was reported that about 15 people were killed during those attacks, many were injured, with goods and properties worth millions of Naira destroyed. Houses and farm lands were also razed down by these wicked Fulani herdsmen.
