Leading socio-political organization in Taraba, Taraba People Assembly TPA has faulted decisions of Vanguard Media Ltd. to recognize it’s state governor Darius Ishaku, describing it as undeserving and huge embarrassment to people of the state and tenets of democracy.

TPA Coordinator, Martins Andekin in a statement said poor delivery of dividend of democracy, mismanagement of fund and non payments of salaries has characterized the three years administration of Governor Ishaku in Taraba state, wondering how he secure a slot for recognition in the Vanguard Award Nite.

Andekin said Ishaku’s rescue mission agenda has visibly failed and would be replaced at the poll in 2019.

“To set the record straight, our governor has visibly failed in all indices of good governance, a government that only constructed nine kilometers of road in the whole of the state, a three kilometer in Kona and another six kilometers in Magami area of Jalingo has nothing to be proud of.

Frankly speaking the governor has performed far below average, and does not deserves any honor or award from reputeable media organization like the Vanguard newspaper .

” we challenge the governor to list any other road embarked and completed by his administration in the last three years.

Also the portable water project being flaunted by the governor at the Vanguard Award Nite is being financed and monitored by Africa Development Bank AFDB. The project was initiated by the late Danbaba Suntai led administration .

It’s a shame that our governor could not showcase any tangible project like Kano, Bauchi and Bayelsa at the award nite, we are more disgust at his mentioning of non existence projects he claimed to have embarked upon and Commissioned in Taraba state.

We appeal to the organizers of the Vanguard Award to withdraw the award for gross misconduct.
