Hon. Barr. Sunny Marshall Katung celebrated his 60th birthday in grant style on Thursday, 1st April, 2021 in two phases.
Hon. Katung was a former house of reps member representing Zango/Jaba Federal Constituency. He was also Hon. Isah Ashiru Kudan’s running mate as the PDP Gubernatorial candidate at the 2019 election.
The first phase of the celebration took place in Rafiki Children’s home at Unguwan Rimi, Kafanchan. Rafiki is an orphanage home which is accommodating children from different backgrounds and you will sure know the children have been taken good care of by their look.
The Rafiki Children’s home experienced the presence of some influential personalities and many other special guests in their numbers and one could see the excitement on the faces of the orphans and their caregivers.
One of these personalities was Hon. Hassan Hyat, PDP Chairman of Kaduna State. In his remark, he said; “This is something worth emulating by all”. He further added by advising social media influencers to desist from sowing the seed of disunity in Kaduna. He also said, “Southern Kaduna alone cannot win the governorship election without the help of other people from other parts of the state.”
The Zango Kataf LGA Chairman, Dr. Elias Manza who was also present, in his remark, he salutes the kind heart of the celebrant and urged others to follow suite.
Hon. Ben Bako rendered prayer to the celebrant and also prayed that God should also bless all that were present just as He would bless the celebrant.
The celebrant in his own remarks said; “this is not the first time I’m doing this, but the difference is that, while the previous celebrations were silently done, this one, I decided to invite love ones, relations and friends to come and celebrate with me even as I celebrate with the orphans today”.
He said, “We should always remember the orphans in our prayers. If we leave this world today, God will not ask us the number of time you attended church rather He will ask us how many people did we bless with the talent and substance he gave us?. And the testimony we heard about God is that, he went about doing good. He healed the sick, fed the hungry and raised the death and if we said we are Christ-like then lets emulate him.”
Hon. Sunny appreciated everyone present for making out time to celebrate with him and the orphans.
