Nasir el-Rufai, the governor of Kaduna State, said his government has spent about N16 billion on security in the last five years. Part of the money, 2.55 billion was used to acquire CCTV cameras and Drones “to identify locations of armed bandits and other criminal elements across ungoverned forest reserves across the state.”
Unfortunately, here we are, where thousands have been killed, thousands have been displaced, thousands became homeless, billions worth of properties destroyed, thousands kidnapped and billions spent on ransoms
In addition, 193.6 million was used to procure “geo-position interceptor and location of GSM, UMTS system to check trends, intercept and locate kidnappers’ GSM calls.”
With all these on ground, a whole Local Government Chairman has been kidnapped for two weeks now and still counting without anything being done to rescue him.
Who then is safe in Elrufai’s Kaduna?
