The residents of Madagali and Gulak in Adamawa State had fled their town as a result of attack by Boko Haram on Monday night.
Swansylinks culled from Daily Post whom got her report from Audu Bakoki, that the attack took place at about 7:30pm as the Boko Haram members stormed the village and opened fire on residents.
That Audu said corpses of six people as they fled the Madagali town last night was seen, the fierce attack of the Boko Haram members couldn’t allow them to count the actual number of deaths and damages.
He added that the security personel were nowhere to be found to defend the people as the few that were left in the town also took to their heels to avoid being killed.
He said “We all fled, both the local vigilante and soldiers. They came with massive power and nobody can dare them because there are few security operatives in the area and those that were patrolling also ran away”.
He said that the insurgents had mobilised and were heading to Gulak, the headquarters of Madagali local government, during which they attacked villages, particularly Bakin Dutse.
Calm is said to have returned now, there was no report that the military repelled the insurgency.
The Adamawa state governor also confirmed the incident to newsmen, he said soldiers have been mobile to the areas and calm has returned.
He further pleaded with residents who fled to return home, adding that security operatives were on top of the situation.
It was also reported that residents, were said to be living the area as at this morning, Tuesday, despite the plea, as according to them, they have seen more dangers than those calling on them to return.
