Best graduating medical student of Kaduna State University received award of 1 million naira as a result of hardwork and to encourage other students to work hard in higher institutions of learning.
The sum of 1 million was awarded by Hon. Umar Yakubu Barde (no shaking) as part of his duty in giving back to his constituency and investing in human development.
Doctor Auta James Godswill as the best graduating student in surgery went home with almost nine (9) awards but was overwhelmed by the 1 million naira award given to him by Hon. Umar Yakubu Barde.
Doctor Godswill attributes his success when asked to hard work and moral discipline. “My success today is as a result of hard work and discipline inculcated to me by my parents” he said.
He also said; “I will add value to life and contribute to the development of the state through my profession.”
He said “this prize has motivated me to do more, to be a better person and give out my best at all time. I also want to use this opportunity to thank the amiable House of Rep member, Rt. Hon. Umar Yakubu Barde for his kind gesture and it’s my prayer that God should continue to bless him abundantly.
This is massive one for me and my family because this award is the climax of a momentous occasion.”
Honorable Barde was represented by Hon. Samaila Leeman the Chairman representing Chikun Local Government and he presented the award on behalf of Hon. Barde to Dr. Auta James Godswill.
Also present at the ceremony was Hon. Danjuma Musa(Best 2), Hon. Salasi Musa and other well-wishers of Rt. Hon. Umar Yakubu Barde.
