As preparation is in top gear towards the May 12th 2018 local government elections in Kaduna State, politicians, stakeholders and concerned citizens have continued to add their voice by advising aspirants, party executive’s and the masses on the need to vote the
right choices at the polls.
Hon. Ezekiel Baba Karik, the ex-whilst Executive Secretary of State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has admonish party executive’s and delegates of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to vote in credible and acceptable candidate at the forthcoming party primaries for council chairmen and councilors, for it is by so doing that the party
will record unprecedented success at the general polls.
He also called on them to uphold the true principles of internal democracy and do away with forceful imposition of candidates, in his words, ‘we must not trail the path of that our opposition party trailed, who were outrightly imposing aspirants who were unpopular, against those who were popular and the masses choice, which was greatly responsible for their crisis and brought about many court litigation”. He urged members of the party to ensure that the candidates of the people scale through the primary election and admonished them on the need to do away with money politics, they should not sell their vote at the alter of the expect peanuts they hope to get from candidates, rather they should vote with conscience and with the interest of the masses at heart.
He also commended the leadership of the state under His Excellency Mallam Nasir Ahmed El-rufai for providing a level playing field for all aspirants, without any form of favouritism or preferential treatment and he prayed that the election will be observed in peace and tranquility.
Finally, he wished all the candidates well, and prayed for a peaceful primary elections in all Ward’s and Local Government areas of the state.
